AUTHOR: Jasmine Warga ⁣

Aysel, is terrified of herself, fears the monsters within and to save herself and the world, decides she wants to kill herself. but not without a partner, to give her the courage she needs. she goes online and finds Roman. a boy looking for someone to help him get out of his house to kill himself without his parents worrying. TWISTED.⁣

Jasmine Wanga, the author, doesn’t shy away from showing how much their depression affects the two teens.⁣

the countdown at each chapter, kept me on edge, torn between not wanting to reach the end, whilst really hoping for a miracle

however, i should address this, the book ended up failing me only because of the romance. yes, aysel and roman  bore their souls to each other, but a romance isn't always necessary in a book and for the romance here, to have driven this book to the conclusion it did doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Aysel had a broken family and well a loosely written mother, both of these things were never addressed. you know why? because like every other depression YA novel, the romance took away from the real plot point.

even though all these things were red flags, the overwhelming feelings and truths in the story is truly what kept me stuck to it, quotes from the book aptly describe most situations and this could have easily been a book to teach everybody what depression feels like, if not for the “love saves all” drama in the end
