"Just because you can’t experience everything doesn’t mean you shouldn’t experience anything. "

AUTHOR:Nicola Yoon

LIVING IN A BUBBLE, isn't just a metaphor for 17 year old Madeline Whittier who has Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), it's a necessity.⁣

She's allergic to literally everything.⁣

Her only company is her mother and her nurse, Carla and of course all her books.⁣

She's never wanted to see what's outside, until a family moves in next door, and a boy catches her eye.⁣

Olly, is the teenage son of a dysfunctional family. His dad is an alcoholic.⁣

When Olly decides to write his email address on his bedroom window that faces Madeline's window, a friendship ensues.⁣

the friendship soon leads Madeline to question if being confined in her bubble and not wanting to see what's beyond it, really living.⁣

Madeline is a very intriguing and likeable protagonist⁣

I found the writing extremely easy to understand and the whole book is an enjoyable experience with numerous doodles and tid bits that keep you hooked.

the story was well written, and the ending was quite unexpected, i found myself at almost all times appalled at how little madeline herself cared for her disease, and her life in general, but also kinda rooting for her to break all the rules

yes this book is mostly 'i love a boy' driven, but it's enjoyable in the childish, first love, longing for life way
